Black cumin oil can be used to treat a wide range of ailments, including hormonal acne. Can this oil be used on any type of skin ? Or on the hair ? Does it really help cure acne and hormonal acne ? And can it also help repair damaged skin ?

Black cumin oil, its origins

Black cumin oil has been used for over 2,000 years, mainly in Egypt, where it was known as the “Gold of the Pharaohs”. Queen Nefertiti used it on her face and hair as a beauty oil.

Originally from Southwest Asia, it has conquered the world with its miraculous properties.

It’s a beautiful plant with white and blue flowers, some of them purple. The oil is extracted from the seeds.

What are the benefits?

Black cumin oil has many benefits. It’s been dubbed a “miracle” oil.

You can use it for your skin, hair and body, as it can also be taken orally.

Black cumin oil is made up of numerous active ingredients, including :

– Omega 3, 6 and 9

– Trace elements such as iron, potassium, sodium, phosphorus and zinc

– Vitamins, in particular B group vitamins such as B1, B3 and B6

– Vitamins E and C

All these active ingredients are important for the skin, hair and body.

It will heal the skin, for example, from acne and hormonal acne, eczema, psoriasis, shingles, light to moderate burns, as well as wrinkles and fine lines, rehydrating the skin, etc.

It improves hair quality, making it suppler and shinier.

And for the body, it is known to boost the immune system.

How to treat acne with Nigella oil ?

Black cumin oil contains a molecule called thymoquinone. This is a powerful active ingredient with numerous properties, including antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, antibacterial and antiproliferative action.

The main molecule has anti-infectious properties. It acts on the bacteria present on the face when suffering from acne. It helps the skin to regenerate, but also soothes irritation and aggression.

It’s a non-comedogenic oil that can be used by people with oily skin, dry skin and so on. It really does suit all skin types, and that’s exactly what makes it a miracle oil.

It will also help to heal, so in addition to helping to regulate sebum and get rid of bacteria on the face, it will help to heal better. And therefore accelerate the healing process of acne marks on the face.

The hardest thing about acne is not touching your pimples…( Yes I know what I’m talking about…)

We often touch them, infecting them and leaving more or less serious marks. What’s interesting about black cumin oil is that even if you’ve messed with your pimples, the oil’s “magical” properties will help you “save” your skin from the damage you may have caused…

You can use it directly on the face and leave it on overnight to enjoy its benefits, or as a simple mask for 30 minutes. You can also mix a few drops of black cumin oil into your day or night cream to enjoy the benefits on a continuous basis and avoid the greasy, oily look on your skin.

Numerous studies have been carried out on the benefits of black cumin oil, and it has been shown that adding 20% black cumin oil to our lotion or cream would be far more effective in combating acne than an acne care product containing 5% benzoyl peroxide.

So what are you waiting for ?

Which Nigella oil should I buy ?

For black cumin oil, choose a 100% organic oil. Why ? Because organic black cumin oil will have all the right properties, won’t be treated with chemicals, and will be much better for skin that’s already suffering.

You can find it on websites or in organic stores, but for some time now it’s been available in the organic sections of supermarkets.

Just be sure to check the organic label. Make sure it’s 100% cold-pressed black cumin oil.

You can find black cumin oil mixed with other essential or vegetable oils, but sometimes you can have bad reactions, especially with essential oils.

So if you have sensitive skin and don’t know what your reactions are, I’d advise you to stick to the simplest solution and use 100% pure black cumin oil.

What about the results ?

Yes, because that’s THE question!

The results will vary depending on your skin type and the type of acne you have.

Personally, as soon as I use black cumin oil the next day, I see a clear difference. Pimples are much less inflamed, less red and smaller.

You can also rinse the black cumin oil you’ve left on with Aleppo soap, which also has very interesting anti-acne properties. (I’ll let you have a look at my article HERE).

However, I use it in the evening and I only put it on my face, so I can’t use it every night because the negative point is that it tends to grease my hair when I sleep (I have fine hair). I have to sleep with a towel on my pillow so as not to stain it, just in case.

For some people, the results can be very quick, and for others they’ll be a little slower.

Once again, this will depend on the type of skin and acne you have. Some skins will heal much faster than others, and some people will have only a few outbreaks of pimples, while others will have inflammatory acne that will require much longer treatment.

In all cases, and even if you use special acne creams during the day, you can apply this oil in the evening to soothe and repair the skin and avoid further aggression. If you’re undergoing acne treatment, you can also use black cumin oil, as the skin is often dried out by these types of treatments.

Here are my two favorite brands :

AromaZone

As for the Melvita brand, I find it very easily in parapharmacy or pharmacy, and for AromaZone directly on their website or in their boutiques.
